404ing It

Hi! It’s been a while, right?

I don’t have a 404ing It LIVE show coming up anytime soon, but I am taking part in a show this Thursday, Oct 9th at 8pm. I’m doing a very 404ing It style  bit and there’s a ton of other great comics and Dee Snider’s son will be there.

Chicken Minced Meat - (Retro Soviet Ad from 1986)

This is the video that Eric Pope wanted in the show. I’m 99% sure I would have said no. Jesus Pope.

Rejected videos, because you asked

Most guests just end up sending me a bunch of videos and we talked and pick a theme for their segment. Sometimes I reject videos because I’ve shown them before, or I don’t think they’ll “play” live. Sometimes I don’t include things because they are messed up and horrifying.

BUT SOME OF YOU ALWAYS WANT TO SEE THOSE VIDEOS SO HERE ARE SOME OF THEM.

Maya Kramer sent so much gold, but also sent me a video of a ROBOT MOUTH THAT SOME UNIVERSITY IN JAPAN MADE WHAT THE FUCK.

Alex Navarro sent me a couple videos I just couldn’t include, but I will share now:

1. "Private Parts" a song from "Strong Kids, Safe Kids" 1984 - This is a song about names of private parts. From a video for kids about Child Abuse. Hosted by Henry Winkler.

2. "I’VE GOT THE WEIRDEST BONER RIGHT NOW" - I seriously do not understand what’s happening here. This is art, though. I think.

Also Eric Pope wanted to show something well past my deadline. I don’t know what it was. I will include it once he gives me the link. It will be horrible I’m sure.

Eric Pope made people feel REAL WEIRD at PAX East this past April.
At Prime, we focused on weird moments, but didn’t get as dark as East. But don’t worry, these videos are still odd and great.

This first video you may have seen. Never has a Weezer cover been done so well.
The second video is… amazing. Watch the whole thing.
This third video was compiled by Trash Night, which is an awesome Boston show. This video is unsettling. I’m glad I watched in a group.

You can watch the whole panel here!

Live from PAX Prime 2014! Here’s the full video of my panel with Alex Navarro, Maya Kramer, and Eric Pope!

Alex Navarro shared with us his two passions: video games and wrestling.

The only thing better than Sonic Generations is having Luigi in it! This hack is pretty impressive, if not the stuff of nightmares.

Tomorrow I’ll have the full panel online! Get excited!

Here’s another long video game remix. Street Fighter sound effects match with religious videos? PERFECT! The M Bison sections are amazing.

On Sunday at PAX Prime we looked at some Game Remixes and Hacks.

This video is long but worth it. How many Michael Keaton movies can YOU name?

The super awesome Maya Kramer was one of my guests on Sunday. We talked about how one of the reasons we say “WTF JAPAN?!?!” is because we don’t have context.
So I would suggest following these links, watching the vids, then coming back here for some context.

Our first link is from a series of commercials for Soft Bank. Starting in 2007, these spots we HUGE in Japan. They follow the adventures of the Shirato Family… the dog is the dad.
The Diarrhea Dance video SORT of makes sense. It’s for a longer “learn English” video that teaches you phrases with songs and movements.
And our third video is from an anime called Dai Mahou Touge. It’s a comedy manga and OVA that parodies magical girl animes. So it’s a comedy, and that bit was supposed to be funny (as well as weird).
NOW YOU HAVE CONTEXT!
(In a  moment I’ll be uploading some video game remixes. Tomorrow I’ll post the whole panel!)
(Also order a Cuties Killing Video Games shirt and help feed indie devs at conventions)
